According to his file in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 2, his name is Tate Rawlins. Hailng from Texas, he is a sharpshooter. Unlike the other characters, he has an average level on stealth and endurance, but has a high rating for his accuracy. He is suited for missions with sniping being an advantage. His signature weapon in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 2 is the SR25 sniper rifle.
He is used in all missions in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo.
In SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 3, he plays a smaller role than he does in the previous games. He is no longer a navy serviceman after he received a general discharge (likely for dubious reasons) prior to FTB3 .In the game, he is the leader of a private military corporation, Talon International, currently stationed in Koratvia. It is later revealed that the Talon International had a feud with the KRA (Koratvian Revolutionary Army), after knowing KRA possessed a number of nuclear arsenal and with the KRA willing to kill all members of the PMCs, they were left to fend off for themselves until Fireteam Bravo came to their aid. After TORO was kidnapped by KRA members, LONESTAR agreed to help Fireteam Bravo in returning the favor. He is later killed by a sniper just after TORO was rescued.
- In SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 2, he has a native Texan accent, but in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 3, he has a natural one. This is also evident that Lonestar's original voice actor in the first two games had been replaced in the third game.
- He was distrusted by SANDMAN after the events of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 2 though it was not revealed why.
- He is referred to as Rawlins by his fellow PMC members. This might indicate that he used this to hide his background after being forcibly discharged from service prior to FTB3
