The Steyr AUG, also known as the STG 77 is a bullpup assault rifle that appears throughout the SOCOM game series.
Background[]
The AUG is a popular Austrian made bullpup rifle. Chambered in 5.56mm, it is accurate, but it's handling is for ambidextrous, right handed or left handed. It is seen with terrorists and mercenary leaders in game.

- Cannot apply the high level optics (SOCOM 3 onward).

- The in-game name of the rifle is derived from the Austrian military designation for the AUG, StG 77 (Sturmgewehr 77, "sturmgewehr" meaning "assault rifle" and "77" referring to the year of its adoption, 1977).
